Taking a trip to the Catskill Mountains with your best friend is never a bad plan. In October I had the opportunity to head down to the mountains with my best friend Andrea (@travelingmaines) and my best dog friend, Ellie, to stay at a dog friendly cabin, “The Stone Cottage”, at Antrim Streamside! I love finding places where I can bring Ellie along for the fun because she loves checking out new places and smells, and I don’t have to worry about her while I am away. I loved Antrim Streamside because it’s location on the southern edge of the Catskills makes it a great location for exploring the mountains, but the property itself had plenty to explore. The Willowemoc Creek runs through the property making it the perfect place for the fly fishing enthusiast.
I, myself, am not a fly fisher, and so my favorite part was exploring the hiking trails on the property. There are two ponds, an apple orchard, and 250 acres of hiking trails winding throughout, one of them leading to a small local farm.
The Stone Cottage property itself has a very large yard, with a fenced in area where your pet can go run around while you hang out on the porch or in the yard. There is an outbuilding where you can sit to have your morning coffee, read, write, or hang out. Inside of the Stone Cottage there are two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room/dining area, a fully stocked kitchen and an enclosed porch area. There is also a basement where you can do laundry.
The Antrim Streamside estate also boasts a brand new events center, The Fern Brook Hall, which is a gorgeous building overlooking the creek through giant windows, and a huge 75 foot wide patio with a fire pit. Great for weddings, big parties, or conferences!
🏔LOCATION: Antrim Streamside is a boutique property within a gated estate along the Willowemoc Creek in Livingston Manor, NY, just along the southern edge of the Catskill Mountains. In addition to a multitude of outdoor adventures like fishing and hiking, the small town of Livingston Manor has some shops and restaurants to check out.
VIBE: We stayed at “The Stone Cottage” which is one of the cabins at the property. Each cabin has a slightly different look and feel. The Stone Cottage is the only dog-friendly option and it was designed to withstand the wear and tear of having dogs in the house. It had a very chic, country-house with touches of modern rustic feel to it. I loved all of the earthy elements added to it, like the stone floor in the bathroom.
CONVENIENCE: The cottage was stocked with everything you would need to spend a few days including all kitchen utensils and needs for cooking. The bathroom is fully stocked with towels, soap, shampoo, and whatever else you need for a comfortable stay. There are extra blankets and bedsheets in the bedrooms, robes in the closet, books and magazines to check out in the living room, and there were even special dog towels and dog bowls in case you forgot your own!
CLEANLINESS: It can sometimes be tough to keep a dog friendly space clean but I was incredibly happy with how clean I found the house. I didn’t find a single trace of any dogs being there. The place smelled great, and I felt like I was living in luxury during our stay.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Diane was my point of contact throughout the stay. She was easy to work with during the booking process and she provided plenty of information about the stay so that I was fully prepared when I arrived. The check-in process is contactless, with a keypad code to get into the cabin upon arrival.
I highly recommend this location for a variety of purposes, whether you have a party or wedding, or just want a getaway with friends, Antrim Streamside is cozy, with a high quality/luxury feel, with a lot of options and things to explore on site and beyond.
